The Asahi Shimbun is of Japan’s best-selling newspapers, with a circulation of over eight million. Its website says it is the country’s “most daily Japanese-language newspaper”. “Asahi Shimbun” in English “Morning Sun Newspaper”. It was in 1879 and cost one sen (a of a yen).
